They did great work on my vehicle but im still waiting on a return phone call from 2 years ago. I suppose I could have followed up too but ive grown accustomed to my issues that I still have with my car 😆 some of which the insurance company already paid to fix

My daughter was in an accident 6/16/25 resulting in a total loss. For almost a year she had been getting items for her new home for her birthday, Christmas, and Easter gifts. She took those from my basement on Sunday and then got into the accident Sunday night. There was not enough space in the vehicle that picked her up the night of the accident to take her starter-home items so she locked them into her car. When we arrived to clean out the car at Modern Body the car was empty. Well, except for a plunger. And 3 dog tennis balls. Everything else was gone. Pots, pans, bowls, silverware, cleaning supplies, laundry hamper, etc. The car was locked and windows intact. Skylar Spainhour, manager, showed me the photos on intake from the tow truck and it clearly shows the laundry hamper in the back seat. He talked to the technicians while I was present and they reported seeing the items in her car. He later called me and stated he found home items including mixing bowls behind the shop. He asked me to prepare a list for reimbursement. I just asked for an update and he is stating there isn’t proof and modern is not claiming responsibility. Let me start this by saying I was incredibly patient with this shop, and though the folks working here are nice people, being nice does not mean the business is run well. The first month they had my car a lot of time was spent waiting on parts, which is out of the shop’s control, so I understand that. That being said, I would rather take a 12 hour flight next to a screaming infant while a dentist pulls my teeth one by one, than deal with this shop again. On Jan 21 I dropped my vehicle off after a simple rear end collision, where my bumper needed to be replaced and hatch needed to be repaired. I was told twice by an estimator and manager “the car looks great and is ready to go”, only to show up and have a damaged bumper, a lift gate missing paint, damage that was just painted over (as if I would not see it), and dry over spray inside of the vehicle. My car was painted THREE times, and still was not done right. It got bad enough that I eventually picked the car up and contacted my insurance to see what my options were, because the car was at this shop for over 2 months. This body shop, specifically Skylar who works there, went above and beyond for my beloved Honda Element. I live in an area with a high stray cat population and my car got some damages from them. I filed a claim with GEICO and was recommended this shop. The reviews kind of worried me, but I decided to go for it. I am very glad I did. I attached the before and after of the hood scratches on my car, and it feels like they literally put a brand new hood on. I had a few other inquiries about my car, and they gave me recommendations for them, and helped where able. Thank you Modern Automotive.

For context, I am a claims adjuster and have recommended this shop to friends for the majority of my career over the past 30 years. I scheduled a minor repair two weeks ago with Modern Body Shop. The part was ordered and is at the shop. The repair should only take two days and it’s the replacement of a rear bumper. The damage is on the left side, where it wraps around the vehicle and it is unlikely there is hidden damage. I was told today by Rusty that it could take 7-10 days for a 2 day repair because of a backlog. The insurance is not going to pay 7-10 days for a rental vehicle for a simple 2 day repair.
